2008 Preakness Stakes Result

Big Brown, trained by Rick Dutrow and ridden by top jockey, Kent Desormeaux was the hottest favourite for the race for many years and did not let his supporters down, coming home to win in great style by over five lengths from Macho Again.

In winning both the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness Stakes, Big Brown set himself for a tilt at the Triple Crown, but unfortunately could only manage 9th and last place, a position which did not justify his ability. The disappointing run was clearly due to an injury incurred prior to the race which badly affected his training schedule.
